I always wanted a dog. When I was growing up the timing was never right to get one. I went to college, then I started working and never had time. Then I met my wife and we discussed the issue back and forth, since we live apart because of work.
Finally, in the summer of 2012, we were on vacation, and we were dog-sitting for my sister. Towards the end of the vacation, just as we were going to return the little Jack-Russell to his home, we received a call from one of our friends. He was in Greece at the time and found the cutest puppy on the street at a private shelter. The shelter would be closed for the winter and the fate of the dogs was unknown.
Seven days after the phone call we were the proud owners of a Belgian Shepherd. Since we were always on holiday we had neither leash nor bed, but lots of love and food, which she finished as she had been hungry for quite some time. So she learned to walk without a leash right from the start… :-) Finally we were able to arrange for a cheap dog training collar . It took a while for her to trust us, but patience and rewards changed her. ! I love her and wouldn't trade her for anything!
