We got a second dog in February of this year when our first dog Mat was 2 years old. We felt that now was the time, we could afford the extra expenses of food, medication, vet bills, supplies, etc. and that Mat would be happier with a second dog in the house. The thing I was most concerned about was being able to give two dogs enough attention and not neglect Mat, who is 100% my heart dog. When we were looking for the dog our main goal was to find a dog that would be compatible with Mat. We finally settled on Mica, a 5 month old puppy. The two dogs are different. Mica is very active and very interested in things, always thinking and observing while Mat is more of a docile dog. Mica is not the best companion at the park at the moment because she has attention issues when she is overstimulated, Mat is simply amazing in the dog park. I use a training collar for 2 dogs to better control him during outings.
