My new brown puppy was sleeping downstairs in the kitchen. I just adopted her that day. Knowing nothing about dog training , I put out a newspaper, water, and food for her. When I closed the door, she whined for a while. It was hard to do, but since I didn't know, she calmed down. Upstairs, I distracted myself by reading puppy books, and for a moment I forgot about my new dog. She lay quiet downstairs. Suddenly, I rushed downstairs, opened the door, and turned on the light. I approached her, kissed her nose while holding her dog training collar, and she woke up right away. I put my arms around her and buried my face in the puppy warmth.
After kissing her for a while, I got up, turned off the light and asked her to follow me. I put her on my bed, and we both fell asleep. My dog is now three years old. She always sleeps with me, and I never, ever ignore her.
