Mon Chien

My Dog

She was a really great dog, though. Smart, heard pretty much everything you said, did all sorts of usual and fun tricks. I enjoyed training her. She was a rottweiler/shepherd mix and lived to be 14 years old.

The only time anyone wanted to buy her was when she saw a dog up the street, panting and choking, straining at the end of a leash. The guy could barely keep his hand on the dog, he was trying to drag him along and was especially interested in my dog. Probably wanting to play, but he looked threatening. The guy had a horrified look on his face, thinking my dog (off leash) would start something with his dog, but lady looked at the dog a second time, came over and sat down next to me heel. The other dog was across the street and as the guy passed us he yelled (over his dog's wheezing and panting) "how much for this dog?" "Not for sale, not for sale." Other people who came to visit wanted her, too. Using an electric dog collar , I taught him not to jump on people or the door.

She was a great dog and I miss her. She passed away about a year ago.
