Zachary was with us for 11 years, as we adopted him from a shelter when he was 14. At the time he had ringworm (highly contagious) and was in quarantine. My husband volunteered at the shelter and took him to our vet and cured him of the ringworm. He wouldn't eat, was depressed to be away from his first mom who had to go to a nursing home. No one was interested in Zachary as he was older, and not very sighted. Since we don't know anything about his past, we got him an electric dog collar , which was actually very helpful. Regardless, he was the most affectionate pet I've ever owned. He loved to put both paws around my neck for a hug, fell asleep in my arms all night, wouldn't kiss me, sat on my lap for hours.
